WELCOME TO MY DOMAIN

Writing is, by nature,

an isolating profession.

This is my opportunity to connect directly with you, the reader.

I welcome you to my writing world and encourage you to explore not only what I have published in the past but also to read my weekly blog and best of all, contact me directly with your comments and ideas. Writers do not necessarily receive enough interaction with readers. Sometimes, we don’t even know if the book is being read, much less how it impacted on the reader.

So please, be my guest! And keep in touch…

About The Author

I was born on a bitter cold morning in January 1945, in Wolf Point, Montana. My mother had come home from the west coast; my father was onboard the USS West Virginia somewhere in the South Pacific. How we ended up in Rockford, Illinois is complicated.

I knew I was destined to be a writer in grade school. When I graduated from high school, we had no money for college, so I went to work for my mother, who owned an advertising agency. I was the creative director, and she handled all the business. I wrote radio, television, newspaper ads, promotions, brochures, and did most of the production with various media. After 15 years, I transitioned to industrial communications; six years later, I took a job as a newspaper for the Beloit Daily News in Beloit, Wisconsin.

I “retired” in 1995 to freelance full time. I wrote medical articles and features for the Northwest Quarterly Magazine’s three issues as well as continuing to write for the Beloit Daily News. Then I contracted with Rosen Publishing Group/New York to write three nonfiction self-help books for teens. Now, finally, I have reached the point where I can write fiction novels.

I also garden, cross stitch, do woodworking and miniatures in my spare time.

Please visit my other pages to discover the four fiction books I have completed.

Newly widowed, Ellie Franklyn isn’t sure what she is going to do next. But a quick trip to
run errands turned into a life-changing direction when she accepted a job working part-
time as a copy editor for her small town’s weekly newspaper, the Creek wood Courier. Getting to know the other editorial members was just the start of an adventure that really fired up when an arsonist lit up two historic barns outside of town. Caught up in the excitement, Ellie starts writing features for the paper and becomes deeply involved in the arson investigation. At the same time, the original editor is replaced by his big city editor Noel Hathaway, who sweeps in and takes over the newspaper with ideas of his own, including an unexpected interest in Ellie. And when the ghost of one of Creek wood’s residents steps in to help, Ellie has more than her hands full.

A kidnapped teen who might know who the arsonist is ignites a frantic search that culminates in a fiery confrontation between Ellie and a killer intent on getting away with his crimes.
